Principal's Message

November 2018

Dear Parents and Guardians,

November is traditionally the month when thanks are given, and we have a tremendous amount to be thankful for.  First, I’d like to thank every one of you who have supported every one of us--we would not be able to do what we do without your tireless support.  It is comforting to know that we are all here to do what is best for our kids--and speaking of GRMS kids, they have embraced Tutorial during the past two months as a means to persevere through challenging concepts and feel successful.  Of course, Tutorial would not be possible if not for the tremendous amount of work put in by our amazing teachers and staff. They have taken the title of “educator” to heart; they have, and will continue to make an indelible mark on your child’s future by ensuring they learn the essential skills needed in high school and beyond.

You can continue to support our efforts by ensuring that your child has signed up for a Tutorial offering each week by using the Infinite Campus scheduler.  Students may begin to sign up for Tutorial at the beginning of Thursday morning. If they are assigned a mandatory tutorial, their teacher will sign them up and they will be able to see this on Infinite Campus. Our expectation is that all students are signed up for their Tutorial by Friday at 5:00pm.

About every four years we get an opportunity to showcase what we do an GRMS to the SRVUSD Board of Education--and this coming Tuesday (November 13) is our night to shine!  If you would like to attend, it is held at the District Office at 7:00pm. We would love to have you there!

Thanks to our amazing PTSA for hosting a math informational evening with Gregory Duran, our District Math Coordinator.  If you missed the presentation, you can access it here.

Upcoming dates to remember this month are:

  • November 19-23: Thanksgiving Break

  • November 29 7:00 pm: PTSA Association Meeting and Reflections Showcase

And looking ahead to December:

  • December 7: 7th/8th Grade Dance

  • December 18th and 19th: Winter Concerts

  • December 20th: End of 1st Semester

  • December 21- Jan 7: Winter Break

I would like to wish every one of you a safe and family-filled Thanksgiving!

Warmly,

Sue Goldman, Principal
